Before you start

The TV is already up on a TV wall mount or its stand. BlazeBite does not mount the TV.
Heavy-duty mounting strips (like Velcro or 3M Dual Lock) to hold the Display Stick on the back of the TV. They are not in the box.

What's in the box

Display Stick: Small black box (a Raspberry Pi)
Power supply: Black plug with a USB-C cable
HDMI cable: One small end, one big end
Remote and USB receiver: The receiver is a tiny black plug

Step by step

This list covers the full kit. If something did not come in your boxes, skip its steps.

Find an HDMI port and outlet
Find a free HDMI port and a nearby outlet. Plug in the TV's power cord.
Plug the HDMI cable into the stick
Do the plugging on the ground first, so you only go up the ladder once. Push the small end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port next to the power port.
Tip: Either small HDMI port works. The one next to power (HDMI0) is the main one.
Plug in the remote's receiver
Find the remote's tiny USB receiver. Push it into a black USB port on the end of the stick.
Watch out: Do not skip this one. Without it, the remote cannot control the screen.
Tip: Black ports work best. Blue ones can cut the remote's range.
Mount the stick on the back of the TV
Put heavy-duty mounting strips (like Velcro or 3M Dual Lock) on the bottom of the Display Stick. Press the stick onto the back of the TV, near the HDMI port.
Tip: The strips are not in the box. Keep the vents clear and the USB ports reachable.
Plug the HDMI cable into the TV
Push the big end of the HDMI cable into an HDMI port on the TV. Note the port's number, like HDMI 1.
Tip: You will pick that number with the TV's remote later.
Plug in the power last
Push the power supply's USB-C plug firmly into the power port on the stick. Then plug the power supply into the wall or a power strip.
Tip: The stick turns on by itself once it has power.
Turn on the TV and pick the input
Turn on the TV. Press Input or Source on the TV's own remote and pick the HDMI port you used.
Tip: Give it a minute or two. It restarts once on the way, which is normal.
Connect to Wi-Fi
When the Wi-Fi Setup screen shows, scan its QR code with your phone and tap Join for BlazeBite-Setup. A setup page opens. Pick your venue's Wi-Fi and enter its password.
Tip: The TV switches to BlazeBite when it is done.
Get a pairing code from the portal
On a computer, sign in to your BlazeBite portal. Click Digital Signage, then Show me a code under Add a TV.
Tip: Codes expire after 15 minutes. If yours runs out, get a new one.
Type the code on the TV
Press OK on the remote to open the keyboard. Use the arrows to move and OK to type each letter. Then move to PAIR and press OK.
Tip: The arrows jump from key to key. That is how the remote works on this screen.
Pick a layout in the portal
Back in the portal, click Settings next to your new TV. Pick what it shows and the layout, then click Save to TV.
Tip: The TV must be on. Saving sends the change straight to it.
Check all four corners
Look at the menu on the TV. All four corners should show, with nothing cut off at the edges.
Optional
Edge cut off?
Press Home on the remote to open setup. In Screen fit, raise Edge Safe Zone 1% at a time until every corner shows. Then pick Save & show the menu.
