Counter setup
The BlazeBite TREK terminal with the receipt printer, cash drawer, and Stripe card reader. Fifteen steps, from unboxing to a test drawer pop.

Step by step
This list covers the full kit. If something did not come in your boxes, skip its steps.
Find the drawer cable
Open the cash drawer box. Take out the small bag with the phone-style cable and the keys.
Plug the cable under the drawer
Turn the drawer upside down on a soft surface. Push one end of the cable into the socket in the small square dip until it clicks.
Flip the drawer back over
Turn the drawer right side up with the keyhole facing you. Let the cable come out the back.
Turn the key to electric
Put the key in the lock and turn it so it lies flat, side to side. This lets the terminal open the drawer.
Set the terminal on the drawer
Set the terminal on top of the drawer, screen facing you.
Place the printer and reader dock
Set the printer to the right of the terminal, paper slot facing you. Put the card reader dock on the drawer, in front of the terminal on the right.
Plug in the terminal power
Tilt the screen back to see the ports underneath. Plug the round power plug into DC in 12V, the port on the far left.
Tip: Plug the power brick into the wall or a power strip. Do not turn anything on yet.
Plug in the printer power
At the back of the printer, push the round plug into the round socket on the far right, flat side up.
Tip: Plug the printer's power brick into the wall or the power strip.
Plug the drawer cable into the terminal
Plug the free end of the drawer cable into the Cash Drawer port, the small one on the far right, until it clicks.
Watch out: The drawer plug is the small phone-style plug. It goes only in Cash Drawer, never LAN or COM1.
Optional
Using a wired internet cable?
Most venues use WiFi. If you do, skip this step. If you use a wired internet cable, plug it into LAN only.
Watch out: The internet plug is the wider one. Never COM1, never Cash Drawer.
Connect the printer
Plug the square end of the USB cable into the back of the printer. Plug the flat end into any USB port under the terminal.
Load the paper
Press OPEN and lift the cover. Drop the roll in so the paper comes up from underneath, on your side. Pull a little out and close the cover.
Watch out: Paper over the top of the roll prints blank. Only the outside of the roll prints. Pulled out over the front, the plain side faces up and the printing side faces down.
Turn on the printer, then the terminal
Tilt the screen back up. Press the printer's power key, then the terminal's power button, low on its right edge.
Tip: The printer light turns green. The BlazeBite Kitchen app opens on its own.
Plug in and turn on the reader
Plug the reader's cable into the reader and into a free USB port under the terminal. Set it in the dock and press its power button.
Watch out: Use the cable that came in the reader's box. A charge-only cable will charge the reader but will not connect it.
Tip: Leave it plugged in. It stays charged and connected.
Connect the reader
On the terminal, tap the gear for Settings. Under Card Reader, tap Card Reader (M2) Setup and pair the reader.
Tip: Never pair it from Bluetooth settings. If an update starts, wait for it to finish.
Test the cash drawer
In Settings, tap Test Cash Drawer. The drawer pops open.
Tip: Push it shut. Keep the spare keys somewhere safe.
